- Change Your Shoes! That’s right… take off your business owner / entrepreneur shoes and step into the shoes of your audience, customers, or clients. Who are they? Why are they going to your website and what do they want to see when they get there? Information? Pictures? Videos? What is their pain point and how will you solve their problem? Keep these shoes on while you move on to the next two tips
- Critique Your Brand! Does your visual brand (colors, logo, style) appeal to your audience or is it outdated? Sometimes it’s a good idea to refresh and renovate your visual brand before moving on to your website. Your visual brand is the foundation for your website and marketing.
- Gather Content! In light of the answers to the questions in tip number one, start gathering your content… videos, articles, FAQ’s, and/or whatever will appeal to and help your audience. Do this before contacting a web designer.
- Find Help! Search for someone to pull it all together – your brand and website. This may not be your cuppa tea but there are people out there (like me) who love doing this stuff. Find someone reliable who will do the research to find out what will work for your business and will get things done in a timely manner. No one wants a project to drag on and on! Having your content ready will help with this.
While renovating your website may be overwhelming to you, remember – there are people out there, like me, who love to create visual brands and websites. Have a look around my website and let me know if you’d like some help!
